The Joinery & Furniture Company (JFC) is an established business and has built an enviable reputation for supplying high quality joinery, furniture & contract work for clients who demand the best. Located in Surrey & Sussex, with well equipped workshops and a talented team of highly skilled craftsmen who own and work on projects from start to finish. We are a small business by choice, which means we are able to offer an unrivaled personal service to private and professional clients alike.
“Robert and Nathan have built up a wealth of experience having studied and worked in the building, joinery & furniture trade with a combination of over 50 years experience.”
Robert started working alongside his father on building sites before studying as a furniture maker at the Guild Hall in London, Highbury College and West Dean College for restoration and wood finishing. Robert worked at Mott Graves Projects Ltd, Dolby & Tickle. He went on to learn the knowledge of traditional joinery by completing 7 years at Cleveland Joinery in Surrey before establishing The Maxwell-Miles Workshop in 2013.
Nathan studied firstly on a furniture design and craftsmanship course at Rycotewood Furniture College, Thame (just outside Oxford). Nathan was fortunate enough to then further his studies on the furniture course at San Diego State University, California. He established RAMSDESIGN in 2006 after 13 years experience as master craftsman and workshop manager at Mott Graves Projects Ltd, a furniture company based in Surrey.
Robert and Nathan joined forces and established The Joinery & Furniture Company Ltd in January 2017.

Architects | Interior Designers | Contractors
We understand that architects, interior designers & contractors build their careers on creative designs and products that inspire their clients. Recommending a joiner & furniture maker means that your reputation is at stake if the company delivers an inferior product, is late, or the work produced is not quite what you had in mind.
We have a proven track record of delivering both functional and well designed joinery & furniture projects. We are happy to either develop your design brief, or work directly from your designs. Building long term relationships between professionals has many benefits; reliability, consistency and predictable results, all of which are essential components for success.
